8 Gestures (2017)

8 Gestures is a modular work whose parts can be selected and arranged for different performance spaces and situations. The work’s movement is shaped around the sound it produces, elaborating choreographic patterns from the spatial and mathematical possibilities of the work's reduced vocabulary. The piece draws its sound from resonances excited through the dancer’s movements and feedback. Recordings of past iterations of the dance momentarily enter the performance space before being gradually erased.
